Abby has 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families in mental health and school settings. Abby will create a calm, comfortable and supportive therapeutic environment where individuals can identify challenges, explore goals, and develop new strategies and tools to achieve wellness and healing. Abby believes that each individual is the expert in their own life, and you have what you need to make the changes you hope for. Together, we will work on developing and maintaining boundaries, setting realistic expectations, learning healthy communication patterns and exploring a deeper, empathetic understanding of relationships.
As a Registered Play Therapist, Abby uses a variety of techniques that helps children, adolescents and families express themselves and heal through play. Abby’s therapeutic approach uses modalities such as Strengths Perspective, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, non-directive play therapy, expressive arts and bibliotherapy.
